I have loved poetry and music since I was a young man in middle school. I remember reading a passage from Whitman’s Leaves of Grass about animals. Though I didn’t quite understand all I read, I fell in love with the power of the words, the strong rhythms of the lines that expanded and receded in such dynamic motion. And I wished to try writing poetry myself.
My first love of music came with the Beatles, like so many in my generation. I loved their voices and exciting rhythms of their songs, their long hair and the freedom they conveyed. Then followed the Rolling Stones, and all the great rock bands in their wake.
This blog is born of my desire to share what I write and the music I sometimes make with those kindred souls that visit. I hope you find something that appeals to you. If you do, please, click a “like” and, if you are somehow moved, leave me a comment in the comments window at the bottom of the page. Your liking and your comments are the best reward and encouragement for a poet who only wants to share his work with you.
